Crystal Palace have not immediately dismissed Newcastle United’s latest bid for defender Marc Guehi, according to the Daily Mail.

Newcastle have continued to persist in their efforts to land the England centre-back in the ongoing transfer window.

They have already failed with three bids for the defender this summer and are now back with a fourth offer for Crystal Palace to consider.

It has been claimed that the Magpies’ fourth offer for the centre-back is much closer to Palace’s £65m valuation.

Crystal Palace have not knocked back the bid immediately and the latest offer is being considered by the Eagles.

There are suggestions that a breakthrough in negotiations could be on the horizon despite Palace not accepting the bid yet.

Guehi is the top centre-back target for Newcastle and the defender is keen on the move in the ongoing transfer window.

If Crystal Palace accepted the offer, the defender would become the club-record signing for Newcastle.
