Serie A outfit Genoa are set to present a fresh offer to Wolverhampton Wanderers to land a player the Premier League side are keen to offload, according to the Daily Express.

Wolves are looking to shed a number of fringe players to bring in extra cash for Gary O’Neil, who is keen to sign a centre-back and a winger.

Attacker Fabio Silva spent the second half of last season on loan at Scottish club Rangers where he played in a total of 25 games and made six goal contributions.

He returned to Wolves at the end of the spell with the Scottish club not attempting to re-sogn him owing to the substantial fee the Molineux side are seeking.

The Premier League club are still on the lookout to sell him and there is interest in the player from Italy.

Genoa are keen on landing Silva this summer but so far their efforts have failed to bear fruit, with a simple loan offered.

The Rossoblu want a season-long loan deal but Wolves are insisting on a permanent transfer or at least a loan with an option to buy.

The Italian club are now set to present a new offer to try and convince Wolves to allow the player to leave.

Wolves want a £17m transfer fee from the sale of the 22-year-old Portuguese.

It looks unlikely that Genoa will be able to stretch to that amount but they are still keen to see if they can sign him.
