Norwich City are paying less than the reported €11m for Rakow Czestochowa striker Ante Crnac, but the deal is gobbling up most of the Adam Idah money, according to the Pink Un.

The Canaries have made a slow start to the domestic season as they drew one and lost one in their first two matches.

New boss Johannes Hoff Thorup is trying to find his feet in the Championship and has been looking to find a new striker.

Norwich pocketed £8.5m from Idah’s departure to Celtic and now they are reinvesting that money to bring in Crnac.

It was reported earlier today that the Championship outfit are paying €11m for the Croatian Under-21 international, but now it has been suggested the fee is lower than that, though not by much.

However, Norwich are spending a big chunk of the money they received from Idah’s sale.

The swoop is gobbling up most of the Idah fee and sporting director Ben Knapper will hope his gamble pays off.

Crnac only signed for Rakow Czestochowa last summer and now he is set to make a move to the Championship after just one year.

Canaries fans will be hoping to see Crnac score goals to justify his big-money move to Carrow Road.
