Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has rejected two offers and is waiting for Napoli to work out a deal for him.
Fulham are out of the race to sign him as they are now close to signing Burnley midfielder Sander Berge this summer.
Napoli have been making progress in negotiations to sign the Scotland international with sporting director Giovanni Manna holding face-to-face talks with Manchester United in England.
The Serie A giants would prefer to sign him on loan but Manchester United are only interested in selling the player.
According to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia, McTominay is patiently waiting for Napoli as they are his preferred option if he is to leave Old Trafford.
The Scotland midfielder rejected two other offers to leave Manchester United in recent days.
He is willing to wait for Napoli but with the window closing next week, it is unclear how long a rope the midfielder is willing to give to the Italians.
McTominay wants to join Napoli but the club are yet to agree personal terms on a contract with the Manchester United star.
