Former EFL star Adrian Clarke is of the view that Birmingham City star Emil Hansson is a player with the potential to score goals and believes he is someone to keep an eye on this season.
Blues signed the 26-year-old left-winger from Dutch side Heracles Almelo this summer to strengthen their forward department.
Hansson has featured four times so far for Birmingham City in the league, starting the last three games.
Clarke stated that Hansson is the player who has managed to catch his eye with his good footwork and ability to travel quickly with the ball at his feet.
The ex-EFL star stressed that the winger is a player to keep an eye on this season and pointed out that his record in the Dutch league shows that he will score goals and provide assists in the coming days.
“The one that really caught my eye off the bench was Emil Hansson, who is a Norwegian-born Swedish player and former Under-21 international”, Clarke said on What The EFL.
“He was really excellent on the left wing.
“Saw him come on in the opening day of the season at half-time.
“Skipping down the wing, he crossed in and won a penalty and basically the moment he came on, Birmingham went through the gears.
“They had about eleven shots until the 75th minute and they finished the game with 26 shots.
“It was a real difference and he was the catalyst for me.
“Brilliant footwork, really quick travelling with the ball at his feet, and looking at his record from Dutch football, you know he is a guy that will score goals and make plenty of assists.
“He is definitely one to keep an eye on.”
Birmingham City are eyeing getting straight back up to the Championship this season, and they will be counting Hansson’s talents to do so.
