One of Leeds United’s stars has admitted that the constant stop-start nature of the early months of the season is a ‘bit strange’.
Despite the campaign only just getting going, an international break swung into the picture and Leeds had to deal with a pause between games.
International breaks are also set to shut down the Championship in October and November, adding to the feel of a stop-start season set-up.
Whites defender Jayden Bogle admits that the constant stops and starts are a ‘bit strange’, but he feels that any opportunity to let the body recover and have a breather should be taken advantage of to the full.
He told LUTV: “It’s a bit strange.
“Obviously you have time off in the off season, then go through pre-season, getting ready for the season. The season starts and then there is a little break.
“But I don’t think you can let it affect you too much.
“There are a lot of games in this division, when there is the chance to get a break you need to use it wisely, not drop off, but maintain those standards and levels, but use the time as well to recover the body and rest.”
Leeds kick off life back from the international break this Saturday by playing host to Burnley at Elland Road.
The Clarets suffered relegation from the Premier League last season and lost their boss Vincent Kompany to Bayern Munich in the summer.
