Former Leicester City winger Matt Piper has insisted that the Foxes’ recent defeat against Arsenal will not relegate them and feels the next three games are very important.
The Foxes are currently sitting 17th in the Premier League table after six matches and lost their match against the Gunners last weekend.
The match was level at 2-2 even after the regulation 90 minutes but the Gunners scored twice in injury time.
Piper made it clear that the Foxes stars do not need to feel too bad as it was against Arsenal, one of the title favourites for the season.
The former Foxes man stressed that the loss against Mikel Arteta’s team will not get them relegated but he feels that Steve Cooper’s side need to get the best out of their next three league games.
“I do not think they need to get too disappointed, the team”, Piper said on When You’re Smiling about the Arsenal loss.
“They got themselves back to the game, they have lost, but to caveat that, it was Arsenal at the Emirates.
“I do not think we were expecting anything before the game and that is not me talking in a defeatist attitude or way.
“I do not think it is losing to Arsenal, why you get relegated out of the Premier League.
“These next three games that are on the horizon, they are the ones, that are really important to try and pick up maximum points in.”
Cooper’s men are next playing Bournemouth, Southampton and Nottingham Forest respectively in the league.
They will be looking to secure as many points as possible from those fixtures this month.
