Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has given an update on the Whites potentially signing a free agent.
With Ilia Gruev and Ethan Ampadu currently sidelined, Leeds have been left with limited options in midfield and have been searching for solutions.
A number of free agents have been linked with a possible switch to the Whites and Farke has been mulling what decision to take.
He admits he is closer to that decision about whether or not to sign a free agent and expects the club to be in a position to take a call soon.
The Leeds boss said by the end of the following week the Whites will have decided whether or not to pull the trigger on a signing, though they could also decide sooner than that.
“Yes, it’s a bit closer”, Farke said at a press conference.
“Latest by the end of next week we’ll have a decision made in any direction.
“But it can also happen quick and we’ll see what the next days will bring.”
Leeds have been playing Joe Rothwell and Ao Tanaka as their central midfield pairing and Farke will be keen to make sure anyone who comes in can quickly get up to speed.
That may be a challenge as free agents have now been without a club side for several months.
