Southampton star Juan Larios ‘will leave’ this summer, with the potential for a free transfer exit seeing some suitors accelerate their efforts to sign him.
The 22-year-old developed through the academies of Barcelona and Manchester City before Southampton brought him to St Mary’s in 2022, with considerable expectations attached to his arrival.
The Spaniard, however, never managed to establish himself as a consistent presence with Saints.

Last season, the left-back returned to his homeland with a move to Segunda Division outfit Cultural Leonesa in an attempt to revive his fortunes.
Larios then switched to fellow Segunda Division side Real Zaragoza for the second half of the campaign, giving him another opportunity to rebuild his momentum.
The defender returned to St Mary’s following the season’s conclusion, entering the final year of his Southampton contract.
Yet despite having a year remaining on his deal, he is expected to leave this summer and it has been suggested he could go on a free transfer.

According to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, Larios ‘will leave Southampton’ this summer and may well even do so on a free transfer.
His ‘future could be resolved’ in the coming days, with some clubs now stepping up their pursuit of his signature.
The identities of the clubs pursuing Larios have yet to emerge, although his situation appears poised for further movement.
The defender has made just six appearances for Southampton throughout his time at the club and could now seek a fresh setting where regular opportunities can provide the platform for his development.
Meanwhile, Tonda Eckert’s side are reshaping their squad in pursuit of promotion after coming close last season, and their pursuit of Daniel Jebbison could develop into a bidding war.
Saints are also monitoring Louey Ben Farhat, although Eintracht Frankfurt are tipped to be the front-runners in the chase.
