Real Madrid are interested in Internazionale defender Maicon according to Spanish newspaper AS. The Brazilian full-back is widely thought of as the "new Roberto Carlos" at the Bernabeu and Florentino Perez is eager for him to make the same journey Roberto Carlos made many years ago. Inter on their part are preparing to play hardball.
The San Siro side have made noises suggesting they would be willing to allow Maicon to depart for Madrid, but only if Lassana Diarra and €10M were sent to Italy. Inter coach Jose Mourinho is known to be a huge fan of Diarra and the cash plus player deal to Spain has echos of the Zlatan Ibrahimovic move last summer.
For his part Diarra is thought to be keen on a move to Milan, believing team-mate Sergio Ramos could soon be making the same move, but to AC and not Inter.
