Group C finds Algeria, England, Slovenia and the United States battling to make the knockout stages. England should be able to top the group, but each of their opponents will pose some threat. Algeria, who beat Egypt in a red-hot playoff to reach the World Cup must be taken seriously, while Slovenia saw off Russia to book their passage and the United States have a game suited to taking on England.
England though will be confident of getting off to a good start in South Africa. We have profiled all the teams in Group C. And it may not be as straightforward a group as many believe.
