Italian striker Luca Toni has officially put pen to paper on a deal to join Serie A side Genoa. The 33-year-old spent part of last season on loan with Roma from Bayern Munich, but was keen to end his German nightmare. Not enjoying the best of relationships with Bayern coach Louis van Gaal, it was always unlikely Toni would see much playing time at the Allianz Arena next season.
The striker has signed a two-year contract with Genoa and will be handed the number 9 shirt. The Serie A side will hope he can rediscover his scoring touch next season and fire them towards a Champions League place.
