French striker Djibril Cisse could return to the English Premier League in January after adding Fulham to his list of admirers. The Panathinaikos forward has been reborn in Greek football and is rightly considered the deadliest hitman in the Super League.
Cisse has been linked with a move to Aston Villa since the Midlands club appointed Gerard Houllier – the man who signed Cisse for Liverpool but never got to work with him – as their manager. Houllier however, could well face opposition from Fulham, where boss Mark Hughes is thought to fancy adding Cisse to his frontline.
Panathinaikos would understandably like to keep hold of their star striker and would be extremely reluctant to release the Frenchman. Their expected exit from the Champions League though could open to door for a substantial offer to be given due consideration.
