Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are believed to be tracking Newcastle United left back Jose Enrique. The Allianz Arena outfit are looking to beef up their defensive options and feel the Spaniard could fit the bill without being too expensive.
Under contract at St. James’ Park until 2012, Bayern think a bid of between €4-5M could do the trick and take the 24-year-old to Germany.
Enrique joined Newcastle in 2007, making the move from La Liga side Villarreal for over £6M. Quick and often very composed in possession, the Valencia-born player has represented Spain at Under-16, 17 and 21 levels, although he has so far failed to pick up a senior cap.
