Liverpool have been linked with a move for Feyenoord’s highly rated right winger Georginio Wijnaldum, though the Dutch side are keen to keep hold of their 20-year-old prospect.
The Anfield club are reported to have had the winger watched on a regular basis and believe he will continue to improve. And while Feyenoord do not want to lose their youth product, there is an acceptance that a reasonable offer from the English side could be difficult to refuse.
Wijnaldum’s attitude however is unknown. The Dutchman was linked with clubs from across Europe as early as 2008, when he began to burst onto the scene at De Kuip. Instead of welcoming the interest though, Wijnaldum expressed his desire to continue to learn his trade in Holland, stating Dirk Kuyt as his role model for leaving the Eredivisie when he was at his peak.
