CSKA Moscow are ready to bid for Lille’s Ivory Coast star Gervinho. The 23-year-old has been the subject of much interest from clubs across Europe since emerging as his country’s one bright spot of last summer’s World Cup in South Africa.
Gervinho was expected to leave the Ligue 1 side in the summer transfer window, but despite interest from a whole host of clubs, chief amongst them English Premier League outfit Liverpool, he stayed put, with Lille not willing to let him go on the cheap.
And in France Gervinho stayed. But his head did not go down and the winger has been a key part of Lille’s superb Ligue 1 season so far which sees them top the table.
Now CSKA Moscow, themselves keen to win the 2011 Russian Premier League, are believed to be ready to offer €13M for the Ivory Coast man – money they are sure will turn Lille’s head and force them to deal.
