Besiktas have admitted they are keen on Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan, but feel the Spanish side want too much for the Uruguayan forward.
Forlan has long been linked with a move away from Atletico Madrid, and with the striker due to turn 32 years old next month, the Madrid-based side understandably feel that time is running out to realise a big fee for the Uruguay star.
But the amount being asked is at present too high for Besiktas.
"Forlan’s transfer fee is €12M", said Besiktas director Serdar Adali to Lig TV.
"He earns €4.5M per year. The move is only fantasy under these circumstances."
Besiktas have though made an offer and now the ball is in Atletico’s court.
"We’ve made an offer that’s convenient to our situation. If our conditions are accepted then we can sign him."
