Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has admitted he would like to bring another striker to White Hart Lane in the summer transfer window.
Redknapp tried to buy Giuseppe Rossi from Villarreal on transfer deadline day in January, but found the striker out of reach when his La Liga side demanded £35M. For Redknapp that fee was too high, and he backed off.
But the Spurs boss’s desire for another striker has not dimmed.
"I’d like another striker. But these are hard to find and expensive", said Redknapp.
"We tried with Rossi, but we suddenly found them requesting £35M. Before we could have got him for £18M."
Following a controversial defeat away at Chelsea in the Premier League yesterday, Spurs look unlikely to qualify for next season’s Champions League. In many ways, this will prove to Redknapp he needs to bolster a side that have scored less league goals at home than any side in the top four.
