Newcastle United are thought to have made an offer of €10M for Lorient striker Kevin Gameiro.
The Frenchman has impressed with Les Merlus in Ligue 1 this season, attracting interest from clubs across Europe, and is expected to exit Lorient this summer for the right price.
However, his destination remains a mystery and the French side will wait until the end of the campaign before making a decision over the Premier League team’s offer.
With 21 Ligue 1 goals this season, Gameiro has had the rule run over him by various clubs from England, Spain and his native France.
The player’s agents also believe there is a strong possibility Paris Saint-Germain could yet enter the race and, should the team secure qualification for the Champions League – a matter which will be decided on the final Ligue 1 matchday on Sunday – then the striker would prefer a switch to the French capital.
