Wolfsburg have informed Spartak Moscow that they will pay €10M for the club’s prolific goal-getter Welliton.

Wolves boss Felix Magath is keen on the 24-year-old and is desperate to add another striker to his ranks following the departure of Grafite.

Welliton has scored for fun in Russian football since arriving in 2007, but is believed to be keen to test himself in a more competitive league – and Germany’s Bundesliga would fit the bill.

Spartak are thought to have informed Wolfsburg that €10M would be enough to snare the Brazilian, but crucially have asked for time to identify and buy a replacement before cashing in.

Therefore Wolfsburg are left playing the waiting game, although Magath is prepared to hold on given how highly he rates Welliton.
