Paris Saint-Germain have added Arsenal striker Marouane Chamkah to their list of summer transfer targets despite noises from the player that he would like to succeed at the Emirates.

Chamakh fell down the pecking order at the Emirates in the second half of the 2010/11 season after arriving last summer amid much fanfare from Bordeaux.

The tall, lanky hitman was considered just what the Gunners needed and boss Arsene Wenger had waited 12 months to complete the deal, watching Chamakh run down his contract with Bordeaux after refusing to pay a €7M asking price.

However, Chamakh’s failure to make a big impression in the Premier League has alerted Paris Saint-Germain, with the Ligue 1 giants ready to offer the 27-year-old an escape route.

At present that does not appear to be a route Chamakh is eager to accept, with the Moroccan still believing he can make the grade with the Gunners; his view could change over the summer though.

Backed by Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund, money is no object for the French club, who could make Chamakh a lucrative contract offer.
