Turkish giants Galatasaray are confident that they may be able to agree a deal for Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso next week.

Talk from the country had indicated that the 30-year-old had refused the offer put on the table by the Istanbul-based side, but Galatasaray vice-president Adnan Ozturk has been quoted as saying a deal is close to agreement.

The Inter stalwart would represent a major coup for Galatasaray as they seek to forget their troubles of last season and mount a bid for the 2011/12 Super Lig title.

"There’s still some details to put in place", said Adnan Ozturk, "but in principle the agreement is close. Next week we could close a deal."

Cambiasso joined Inter in 2002 and has since gone on to make well over 200 appearances for the Nerazzurri.

The Argentine has picked up five Serie A titles, one Champions League and four Coppa Italias in Milan.
