Javier Pastore appears set to move to either Chelsea or Paris Saint-Germain with the Argentine’s current club Palermo confirming a deal is very close.
Both Chelsea and PSG have been serious about snaring the tricky 22-year-old, who is rated as being as good as Barcelona star Lionel Messi by his current president Maurizio Zamparini.
The Argentine though has been keen to leave the Serie A club this summer, believing that now is the time for him to take a step up, one the player feels Palermo cannot provide.
And according to Zamparini, agreement for the sale of Pastore is close.
"I will speak only after the transfer has been concluded", the Palermo supremo told Sky Sport 24.
Asked when that might be, Zamparini replied: "It’s a matter of hours."
Earlier today Palermo’s sporting director Sean Sogliano confirmed to RMC that it is either Chelsea or PSG to which Pastore will head.
"We received interesting offers, one from Chelsea and one from Paris."
