Roma are moving slowly but surely towards finding an agreement with Marseille for midfielder Lucho Gonzalez.
Marseille wanted to keep hold of the Argentine, but at 30 years old and with the player himself ready to leave the French south coast, a move to Roma appears in everyone’s best interests.
No agreement between the two clubs has yet been found according to Canal+, however there is a desire on both sides to push through a deal.
Lucho Gonzalez landed at Marseille in 2009, costing the French club a substantial €18M to buy from FC Porto.
The midfielder was quickly identified by new Giallorossi boss Luis Enrique as a player he would like to add to his squad and Gonzalez has quickly been deemed essential.
With the arrivals of Erik Lamela from River Plate and Bojan Krkic from Barcelona, Enrique needs Gonzalez to bring some much needed experience to the middle of the park.
