Russian Premier League side Anzhi Makhachkala have not yet given up on tempting Inter striker Samuel Eto’o to Dagestan.

While the 30-year-old forward intends to remain with the Nerazzurri, he cannot easily dismiss the offer Anzhi have made and the Russians are determined to leave it on the table.

Anzhi will pay Eto’o €20M per season for four years if he agrees to head east and join the likes of Roberto Carlos and Diego Tardelli.

Anzhi switched their attention to Eto’o after failing with swoops to sign Chelsea forward Nicolas Anelka, Schalke forward Raul and Santos wonderkid Neymar.

Now Eto’o is waiting to see if Inter’s owner Massimo Moratti offers him an extension to his current contract at the San Siro.

The odds are still stacked against Eto’o moving to Anzhi, but the Russians are determined not to give up easily.
