Manchester City are believed to have offered out-of-favour left back Wayne Bridge to Lyon and Marseille.
Bridge has seen the door closed on his first team chances at Eastlands due to the arrival of Gael Clichy from Arsenal this summer.
And this, combined with the presence of Aleksandar Kolarov at the club, means that first team opportunities will be few and far between for the Englishman in the 2011/12 campaign.
It is little surprise therefore that sources in France suggest Bridge has been offered to both Lyon and Marseille.
A move to the Stade Gerland would appear unlikely given Lyon currently boast the services of Aly Cissokho and Michel Bastos.
Marseille meanwhile are thought to be concerned about the amount Bridge earns at Eastlands, making a switch to Didier Deschamps’ men also a remote prospect at present.
Indeed, should City wish to ship out Bridge they may have to shoulder some of the burden of the former Chelsea player’s wages. Only then would he be an attractive proposition to Marseille.
