Manchester City full back Aleksandar Kolarov has appeared on Juventus’ radar as the Italian side ponder which left back to move for in the January transfer window.
Kolarov has seen his playing time at Eastlands affected by the arrival of Gael Clichy from Arsenal and there are question marks over just how much he will feature throughout the season.
This has not been lost on Juventus, who have paid close attention to the Serbian’s situation at City, and have been encouraged by Roberto Mancini’s presumed preference for Clichy.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Bianconeri are ready to launch a swoop for the Serbia international when the window opens in 2012 and believe that the 25-year-old would be open to a return to Serie A.
Kolarov played for Lazio from 2007 until 2010 and is well aware of what it takes to succeed in the Italian top flight.
Juventus have been left short at left back as a result of letting Swiss defender Reto Ziegler head to Fenerbahce on loan, just months after bringing the former Tottenham Hotspur man in from Sampdoria.
Manchester City paid Lazio £16M for Kolarov just one year ago and, were they to entertain an exit for the ex-Beograd man, would undoubtedly want to recoup a large proportion of that.
