While Manchester United’s interest in Villarreal defensive midfielder Bruno Soriano has now become something of an open secret, reports from Spain suggest the Red Devils have taken this to the next level.
Spanish radio station Cadena Ser report that Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have been in touch with Villarreal to submit a concrete offer for the 27-year-old – and that bid is €10M.
The Yellow Submarine are thought to have neither accepted or rejected the bid as yet and are considering their position.
United are expected to push for the Spanish international to land at Old Trafford in the January transfer window, but do not view waiting until the summer as a disaster.
And an end of season switch would suit Villarreal more, with the Yellow Submarine reluctant to part with their highly rated midfield enforcer halfway through the campaign.
Soriano is a product of Villarreal’s youth academy and is popular amongst the club’s faithful.
The player can also operate as a left back.
