Sources in Portugal have suggested Manchester United are one of the sides with eyes on Sporting Lisbon striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel.
The Dutchman only landed in the Portuguese capital this summer from FC Utrecht, but has already set about impressing in his new surroundings.
Van Wolfswinkel has notched four goals in five league games, combined with two strikes in the Champions League, feats that have not gone unnoticed.
According to Luso O Correiro da Manha, English Premier League champions Manchester United are monitoring Van Wolfswinkel’s progress, along with Italian trio Inter, Roma and Lazio.
And despite the 22-year-old’s improving displays, the player’s agent believes that there is much more in the young Dutchman’s locker.
"We have not seen the best of Ricky", commented Louis Laros to A Bola.
"He can do much more. He’s still in the process of adaptation.
"He feels really good."
Van Wolfswinkel, the son-in-law of Dutch legend Johan Neeskens, cost Sporting Lisbon €5.4M and signed a contract with the club until 2016.
The agreement however contains a buy-out clause of €22M.
