Arsenal are tracking Valencia winger Pablo Hernandez with a view to a January transfer window swoop.
The 26-year-old, who is one of Los Che’s current gems, has popped up on the Gunners’ radar according to Spanish radio station Cadena Ser.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is deep in thought, plotting how to spend the money available to him in January to give the London giants a boost going into the second half of the season.
Wenger was forced to rush into deadline signings in the summer transfer window due to the protracted nature of the respective sales of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.
And now with time to carefully plan his moves, Arsenal’s French boss has identified Hernandez as a potential acquisition.
The Spain international has been handed the challenge of becoming one of Valencia’s key performers in recent years due to the Mestalla outfit needing to sell a number of the club’s crown jewels to reduce their debts.
The likes of David Villa, David Silva, Raul Albiol, Carlos Marchena, Joaquin and Juan Mata have all bid farewell to Los Che, but thanks to the performances of their replacements and Hernandez, Valencia have remained La Liga’s third best side.
A product of Valencia’s youth academy, Hernandez is under contract at the Mestalla until 2014.
