Bayern Munich are set to take a close look at Valencia striker Roberto Soldado when Los Che visit Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League this evening.
Jupp Heynckes side have long had more than a passing interest in the Spaniard and will use the opportunity of his potential 90 minutes in Germany to judge how he might fare against Bundesliga defences.
Soldado has quickly become one of Valencia’s star players and is finding the back of the net with regularity.
This has not been lost on Bayern Munich, who are also in the process of planning for just what would happen if Mario Gomez were ever to be sold.
Soldado however could even arrive if Gomez remains, although the Bavarians would have to make Valencia a very attractive offer.
The 26-year-old arrived at the Mestalla last summer, moving from Getafe for €10M.
A replacement for David Villa, who was sold to Barcelona, Soldado has so far proven a more than adequate substitute for the Spain international.
