Rich Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala are lining up a megabucks offer for Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.
Anzhi, who have already snapped up the likes of Roberto Carlos and Samuel Eto’o, remain in the hunt for big-name acquisitions to push their charge towards the Champions League.
And according to French radio station RMC, Ivorian hitman Drogba is the latest player to have attracted the Dagestan club.
Drogba would, like Eto’o, be extremely well rewarded if he agreed to move to Russia.
Eto’o is believed to earn close to €20M per season with Anzhi, despite club denials, and Drogba would be on a similarly large wage.
Indeed, the Chelsea man will be offered €12M per year to leave Stamford Bridge.
The 33-year-old remains a popular figure at Chelsea, although boss Andre Villas-Boas is attempting to inject youth into the club’s ranks.
It has been suggested that Drogba could leave the Blues for a nominal fee, with his exit freeing up space for Villas-Boas to recruit a fresh face.
Whether Drogba is prepared to follow Eto’o to Russia remains to be seen, but the Ivory Coast star will surely be tempted by the prospect of one big final payday.
