Mario Gotze’s agent has confirmed having had contact with Manchester United and Juventus over the Germany midfielder.

The Borussia Dortmund star is on the wishlist of almost the entire elite of European football, although the Ruhr giants have remained steadfast in their determination to keep Gotze at the club.

This summer again Jurgen Klopp’s men may have to find new reserves of strength to see off interest in a player who, according to his agent Dirk Hebel, will cost at least €40M when he does leave the Bundesliga champions.

Asked by Calcio Mercato whether Manchester United and Juventus want Gotze, Hebel replied: "I don’t think that there is a top club in Europe who wouldn’t be interested in him."

Pressed however on whether there have been concrete contacts over the Germany international and whether the Red Devils and Bianconeri have been in touch, Hebel confirmed the state of play.

"Yes I can confirm [contact]. Yes, those too."

Nevertheless, Hebel believes that Dortmund are not yet ready to yield Gotze and moreover, the player himself is happy to be plying his trade with Klopp’s men.

"I don’t know [about Gotze leaving in the summer], you should ask Borussia. He is very happy at Dortmund, although maybe a little less at the moment since he’s injured."

And on the German’s eventual sale price the agent was clear.

"I think that Borussia won’t let him go for less than €40M."
