Chelsea have recalled Mexican starlet Ulises Davila from his loan stint at Dutch outfit Vitesse with immediate effect.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder was sent to Vitesse on loan for the entire 2011/12 campaign, but has struggled for playing time in Arnhem.
Indeed, Davila managed to make just two appearances for the Eredivisie club’s first team, against Roda JC and Excelsior, respectively, in an underwhelming spell.
And rather than wait for the season in Holland to end, Chelsea have acted to recall the Mexican.
The Champions League finalists want to assess Davila before deciding whether to send him for another loan stint next year.
Davila was snapped up from Mexican outfit CD Guadalajara in 2011, signing a five-year contract in London.
