Guus Hiddink has agreed to extend his stay with Anzhi Makhachkala for a further year.

The 65-year-old took over at the Dagestan giants in February, agreeing to remain in post until the end of the Russian season, when both sides would then take stock of developments.

And the former PSV Eindhoven coach has impressed Anzhi Makhachkala so much, the wealthy Russian outfit have been desperate for him to continue his stay.

Hiddink and his assistants have agreed to this and will now stay at the club until at least the middle of 2013.

The Dutchman’s brief will be to get Anzhi into the Champions League spots after missing out this season.

Hiddink did however manage to steer the club into a Europa League place for the 2012/13 campaign.
