Montpellier star Younes Belhanda has insisted he wants to stay at the club.
The Moroccan attacking midfielder has been attracting much attention in recent months and Montpellier are set to recieve offers for his services in the summer.
Leading the chase for the 22-year-old are thought to be Ligue 1 powerhouses Paris Saint-Germain and English Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool; indeed, former Reds boss Kenny Dalglish watched the talented schemer in action at the end of last month.
Rene Girard’s men however are feeling increasingly confident of keeping hold of Belhanda, especially with Champions League football at the Stade de la Mosson on the agenda, and have slapped a €30M asking price on his head.
And their hopes have now been given a further boost by the player himself.
"I want to stay", said Belhanda, when presented with the Marc-Viven Foe Award, handed to the best African performer in Ligue 1.
"The Champions League, with the club I grew up at, it’s amazing", he added.
"There is a feeling that is telling me to stay at any price to make sure I play in the Champions League."
Belhanda and Montpellier are still on target to win Ligue 1, with the competition’s final matchday due this Sunday.
The south coast outfit hold a lead of three points over Paris Saint-Germain, with goal difference between the two teams level. Montpellier travel to Auxerre for their final match, while PSG make the trip to Lorient.
