Uruguayan talent Gaston Ramirez is likely to have played his last game for Bologna, according to his agent.

Ramirez has been in blistering form for the Rossoblu this season and Bologna quickly tied the midfielder to a new contract earlier in the year in order to protect their investment; however the Serie A side have never made any secret of the fact that keeping the starlet would be mission impossible.

The 21-year-old is interesting a number of clubs with English Premier League giants Liverpool having made the running for his signature throughout the campaign, while Napoli and Juventus would dearly love to keep the Uruguayan within Italy.

And a transfer away from Bologna, worth around €20M, is on the cards; indeed, it was claimed at the end of March that a concrete offer from an English side has been lodged.

"Ramirez is a player who has had an important season and can now look to end this on a high at the London Olympics", the Uruguayan’s representative Vincenzo D’Ippolito told Radio Calcio Mercato.

"We will begin to speak with his club after 1st June.

"It is very likely that this was his last year at Bologna – we have some offers."

The transfer battle for Ramirez is set to be fierce, and Liverpool should be in the thick of it, with managing director Ian Ayre claiming that despite the Reds not having a manager or director of football, the work goes on. "It’s a big machine that works around the acquisition of players at Liverpool and the fact that today we don’t have a director of football or a manager, doesn’t mean any of that stops", he said.

Juventus meanwhile would love Ramirez to boost their Champions League return for next season, while Napoli, who finished fifth in Serie A, are keen to put together a title challenge for the 2012/13 campaign as well as booking their spot in Europe’s elite once again.

Ramirez managed eight goals in the Italian top flight in the last year, from 33 appearances.
