Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has stamped on continued talk linking the club’s Polish striker Robert Lewandowski with a move to Manchester United.

The Bundesliga goal-machine, who found the back of the net in Poland’s 1-1 Euro 2012 opener against Greece, has been consistently mooted as a target for Sir Alex Ferguson’s English giants.

Manchester United have already completed one raid on Dortmund this summer, snapping up Japanese midfielder Shinji Kagawa.

Were the German champions to lose another one of their key men, it would be a devastating blow – but it is one Watzke is confident will not happen.

“It does not matter if we receive bids. I’ve said for weeks that Robert will be back at the club for training when he has had his holiday after Euro 2012”, Watzke told Sport Information Dienst.

And the Ruhr side’s off the pitch supremo also slammed continuing talk from the player’s native Poland linking Lewandowski with an exit.

“I’m sick and tired of this speculation. I don’t care about what’s being said in the Polish media.”

Lewandowski’s heroics with Dortmund at club level last season brought him to the attention of a number of Europe’s elite, while he is continuing to bask in the limelight at Euro 2012 this summer.

The striker will hope to help Poland to beat Russia in his country’s second Euro 2012 game this evening.
