Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has insisted that he wants €70M if he is to contemplate selling Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani this summer.
Cavani is a man in demand, with English Premier League duo Chelsea (the Blues scouted the Uruguayan as recently as April) and Manchester City (Roberto Mancini has leaned towards a swoop) consistently linked with a bid for his services, while Italian champions Juventus also hold an interest.
The Uruguay international was in impressive form last season, finding the back of the net 23 times in 35 Serie A games and also lighting up the Champions League with five goals in eight appearances.
The 25-year-old is under lock and key at Napoli until 2016, placing De Laurentiis in a strong bargaining position – and the famous Italian film producer is demanding a large sum is paid if Cavani is to be sold.
"People claim that I intend to sell Cavani", said De Laurentiis to Tuttosport.
"Of course, if they are offering €70M in cash", he added.
Napoli are expected to sell Argentine striker Ezequiel Lavezzi to wealthy French side Paris Saint-Germain next week, further reducing the need to part with Cavani.
Lavezzi is expected to cost PSG around €27M.
