Nicklas Bendtner is set to put the finishing touches to a move to Juventus later today after completing a medical in Turin.

Juventus have agreed terms with Arsenal to take the Denmark international on loan for the season, with a view to a permanent transfer next summer at a set price of €5M, plus €1.7M in possible add-ons.

The Italian champions’ director general, Giuseppe Marotta, is not expecting any hiccups, however, after losing out on Dimitar Berbatov, who had appeared to be on his way to the club for a medical yesterday, will not count his chickens just yet.

"Bendtner is currently already in Italy and tomorrow [today, ed.] will undergo a medical examination", said Marotta to Mediaset.

"I only dare to say that he is a Juventus player because all the paperwork has been completed. But yesterday we have seen that it is strange sometimes."

Bendtner spent last season on loan at Sunderland from Arsenal and was desperate to ensure a switch away from the Gunners this summer.

The 24-year-old impressed at Euro 2012 with Denmark, scoring a brace against Portugal in the group stage.

Juventus have been keen to add more striking power to their squad, with a Champions League campaign to complete as well as an attempt to defend their Serie A title, won last season.
