Arthur Numan has taken a new job as international scout for Dutch Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar.
The former Holland international worked for English Premier League side Aston Villa last season, but was a casualty after the club opted to sack manager Alex McLeish, something Numan accepts happens regularly in football, leaving him with no hard feelings over his spell at Villa Park.
relatedNewsStory "It happens in England, they get everybody out", Numan told De Telegraaf, insisting that a managerial change often means all change in the Premier League.
"Last week I had a conversation with AZ and I’m happy to go there and step in", he added.
"For now it is on a part time basis.
"That means that I go to watch two or three games at the weekend and take part in the scouts consultation."
Numan does not count AZ amongst his former clubs, having played for Haarlem, FC Twente, PSV Eindhoven and Scottish giants Rangers.
