Nicklas Bendtner is hoping to convince Juventus to make permanent his loan move from Arsenal through good performances on the pitch.

The Danish striker joined the Italian champions on a season-long loan from the Gunners in the summer, after spending the previous campaign at Sunderland.

relatedNewsStoryBendtner had been keen not to return to Arsenal and wanted a move to one of Europe’s elite – and Juventus granted his wish.

Now the pressure is on the confident goal-getter to convince the Bianconeri that he should be retained on a permanent basis.

So far he has made just one appearance for Juventus in Serie A, coming off the bench for an eleven minute stint – and he has stressed he hopes to be given the games to impress.

"I do not regret choosing Juventus", Bendtner told Italian daily Tuttosport.

"It was an easy transition and I feel welcome here. I am very happy in Turin. It is a beautiful city.

"It is my desire to stay here when my loan period is over – but first I must prove myself.

"To do that, I need to play."

Bendtner was in action for Denmark on Friday night against Bulgaria in a World Cup qualifier. The striker scored his side’s goal in the 1-1 draw.

He will hope to continue his goalscoring on Tuesday, when Denmark travel to Italy for another vital clash.
