Kevin De Bruyne has vowed to do all he can to play for Chelsea next season, as he looks ahead to the conclusion of his loan spell at Werder Bremen.

The talented Belgian international, who was recently hailed by one of his former coaches as a more complete player than countryman Eden Hazard, is on a season-long loan from Chelsea at the Bundesliga club – and he has massively impressed.

De Bruyne has played in nine Bundesliga matches so far for Werder Bremen, scoring three goals and providing two assists to much acclaim.

And the Belgian is hoping that his performances in a green shirt, which are being closely watched by Chelsea, will help to secure him a place in Roberto Di Matteo’s squad for next season when he expects the Blues to be in the Champions League once again.

"I will do everything to play next year", De Bruyne told Belgian TV channel RTBF.

"The team play in the Champions League and competes at the top of the Premier League.

De Bruyne also explained that he is delighted with the progress he has made in recent years, feeling he has a sense of real maturity despite his tender years.

"I know I’ve made good progress over the last four years.

"I have grown everywhere and not just on the football pitch, but also mentally.

"I am still young in my head and I want to have fun. But I am not afraid of anything and that’s the way I play."
