France coach Didier Deschamps has refused to be drawn on midfielder Yann M’Vila’s international ban.

The Rennes midfielder, who played at Euro 2012 for France under previous coach Laurent Blanc, has been banned from international football by the French Football Federation until after the 2014 World Cup.

M’Vila has been punished for breaking a curfew when with France’s Under-21s and has been come down on hard.

It is a big blow for the 22-year-old, who has seen his stock plunge in the last few months.

But Deschamps will not get involved, insisting that M’Vila’s fate was a matter for the federation’s disciplinary commission, who have reached their verdict.

"It is the way it is", said the France coach.

"The commission made the decision that you are aware of.

relatedNewsStory"He can appeal, but it is not my responsibility."

The ban raises the very real prospect that M’Vila may never play under Deschamps for France.

Should Les Bleus have a poor 2014 World Cup, the former Marseille man may leave his post.

While, if they succeed, Deschamps will have little reason to change a winning forumula.
