Former Manchester United winger Andrei Kanchelskis has advised Anzhi Makhachkala striker Lacina Traore to join Liverpool if the opportunity presents itself.
For Kanchelskis, it is no surprise that the English giants are interested in the 22-year-old striker and the former winger, who is now in charge of Russian Premier League club Volga Nizhny Novgorod, feels a switch to Anfield would be a good move for all concerned.
"Traore has all the attributes, height, technique, speed, in order to start playing in England", Kanchelskis told Russian daily Izvestia.
"For Liverpool, he would be a good buy, especially given the current state of affairs in the team", he added.
And Kanchelskis, who played in England, notably with Manchester United and Everton, does not think Traore should think about passing up the opportunity to play for Liverpool.
"In any case, if he receives offers from Premier League teams and especially from Liverpool, he has to go.
relatedNewsStory"In spite of the last games of Anzhi, we should not compare these clubs, as it is not necessary to compare the level of the championship.
"How much have Liverpool won in their history? And how much have Anzhi won?
"Let's not talk about this, it's ridiculous."
It still remains to be seen whether Liverpool will be able to thrash out an agreement with Anzhi Makhachkala for Traore in the summer.
However, the Reds look to have placed themselves at the front of queue with the Dagestan club, agreeing that they will be first in line for the 22-year-old.
Anzhi Makhachkala only signed Traore this summer, paying Kuban Krasnodar a fee of around €18M to pair him up with Samuel Eto'o in the team's attack.
It has so far paid dividends: Traore has scored seven goals in just eleven Russian Premier League games.
