Veteran midfielder Andrea Pirlo would welcome Frank Lampard to Juventus with open arms if the Bianconeri snap him up at the end of the season.

Lampard’s contract at Chelsea expires during the summer and the Blues look poised to end the 34-year-old’s long association with the club.

Letting the midfielder go is reminiscent of AC Milan allowing Pirlo to leave on a free transfer in the summer of 2011; the pass-master then inspired Juventus to an unbeaten Serie A season and the title, before starring at Euro 2012.

And the 33-year-old could see Lampard extending his career by many years in Serie A, preferably at his side.

"Chelsea would be made to let him leave", Pirlo told Italian daily Tuttosport.

"He is still one of the best in the world", he continued.

"If he would like to come to Italy, I would welcome him with open arms to Juventus.

"Lampard could have another four years at the top in Italy."

Lampard will be 35 years old before the 2013/14 Serie A campaign starts, but Juventus have shown consistently that they are willing to put their faith in experienced players.

The England international is likely to have a number of offers if he leaves Chelsea though, with fellow Serie A side Lazio mooted as being interested, while clubs in China would also love to snap up the goalscoring midfielder.
