Arsenal are looking at a potential swoop for Mainz striker Adam Szalai, according to German daily Bild.
The Gunners have been impressed with the 25-year-old’s goalscoring feats in the Bundesliga this season, with Szalai having netted nine goals in 17 league matches.
But while Arsenal may like to snap up Szalai during the current transfer window. Mainz sporting director Christian Heidel is completely against selling the striker, exclaiming: "We will not let him go now for any money in the world."
However, during the summer the situation could look different, with the Hungary international boasting several different release clauses in his contract.

The exact release clause is staggered and corresponds to the time when Szalai leaves the club.
Should the striker want to leave this summer, the figure is €15M, while if he holds on until the summer of 2014, the release clause drops to €8.5M.
Szalai’s contract at Mainz runs until 2015.
He joined the German outfit in 2010, initially on loan, from Real Madrid’s B team.
