FC Twente defender Douglas has revealed he is not keen on an immediate transfer to Anzhi Makhachkala.

The wealthy Russian side have made an offer to take Douglas to Dagestan as they bid to replace Christopher Samba, who departed for QPR during last month's transfer window.

Douglas is out of contract at Twente at the end of the season and parting with him now would raise the Dutch side some funds.

But the defender is not keen on joining Anzhi Makhachkala now.

"I feel good at the club and I really want to stay", he said to the Algemeen Dagblad when asked about his future.

It seems Douglas is set to remain at Twente until at least the end of the season.

And while that may be good news for Tukkers coach Steve McClaren during the current campaign, it is likely to see the Brazilian-born stopper leave on a free transfer in the summer.

Anzhi Makhachkala meanwhile must turn their attentions elsewhere.
