Michael Laudrup is firmly on Real Madrid’s shortlist to replace Jose Mourinho for next season and boosted his chances by leading Swansea City to the League Cup yesterday.
According to Madrid-based daily Marca, Los Blancos president Florentino Perez has now requested extra information about Laudrup and his coaching methods as the Dane rises to become a concrete contender to take over at the Bernabeu.
Perez is determined to appoint a coach who does not court controversy in the media and Laudrup is ticking many of the president’s boxes.
The Dane would also be a popular appointment with the Real Madrid faithful, with recent polls giving him overwhelming support amongst Madridistas.
