Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has tipped his hat to Marseille midfielder Mathieu Valbuena.
The 28-year-old put in a superb performance for France against Georgia on Friday evening, helping Les Bleus to a 3-1 victory and the leadership of Group I, two points ahead of Spain, in the battle to reach the 2014 World Cup.
And Wenger, who has been linked with trying to bring Valbuena to Arsenal in the past, was more than impressed with the midfielder’s showing.
"He has become essential [for France], very comfortable in small spaces", Wenger told Telefoot.

"He is also a player who can take responsibility", he added.
Wenger’s comments are sure to raise the prospect of a summer bid for Valbuena, especially considering Marseille’s cash-strapped status.
In the meantime, Valbuena must focus on helping France to beat Spain on Tuesday evening in Paris.
